JONDO Art Heist
On December 19th of 2011, we launched a campaign in Los Angeles, CA dubbed the Art Heist.
It took several months of planning, coordination, and preparation in order to accomplish as well as a couple of delays due to unruly weather conditions, but the final ongoing event went off without a hitch.
The point of the campaign was simple.
Here at JONDO, we believe that art should be readily available to those who desire it. The catch however is that art often comes at a price not affordable by many. That's unfortunate. That's why we've made it our mission to make museum-quality presentation available to all, not just museums. So that every artist, big or small, can create, collect and display their favorite work in the manner they feel it deserves.
What was the point of basically giving away 26 different 40x60 canvases in Los Angeles? Well our point is that art CAN be affordable. JONDO is making it so. We're empowering people to create their own art on canvas whether it be their personal photos, illustrations, artwork or any other sort of visual imagery. Just visit us on the home page at JONDO.com and see what we mean. We can give your imagery the museum and gallery presentation they deserve.
So what does it look like when random strangers walk down the street with giant 40x60 canvases trying to fit them into their cars and the like? Turns out... rather funny. Here's the final video we produced that shows how it all went down.
Overall, it was a great deal of fun, and we've gotten a lot of great feedback from the event including requests to bring it to other cities. While we can't promise anything, we'll definitely try our best! Thanks to everybody for all the support and love on the campaign! Oh, and if you'd like to see the final 26 images that were used for the campaign, just pay us a visit over on Facebook.
